About Us
The New Zealand Medical Student Journal (NZMSJ) is the national open access, peer-reviewed academic medical journal for students in New Zealand. We independently publish our own issues as The New Zealand Medical Student Journal Society.
It is a bi-annual academic research publication indexed on Google Scholar. It is peer-reviewed by academics, clinicians and students across New Zealand. The NZMSJ has a national distribution and readership, and is supported by the University of Otago and University of Auckland.
The journal publishes summer studentships, research articles, academic reviews, case reports, feature articles, book reviews, letters and other content that is educational and of interest to medical students. This includes material written by students and health professionals from allied health disciplines. All our articles are free to download as a pdf and soon, XML and BibTeX as well.
